6 Reasons to Stay at The Ridge Tahoe Resort

The Ridge Tahoe Resort

Lake Tahoe is known as a great place for snow skiing, hiking, and for the activities on the lake itself. Outdoor enthusiasts, adventure-goers, lake lovers, and more flock here throughout ski season and the summer for a great vacation. Even off-season is great in Lake Tahoe – with less crowds and better weather (not to hot and not too cold), there is so much to do. The Ridge Tahoe Resort is a great place to stay when in Tahoe, during any season.

The Ridge Tahoe Resort is located in the mountains with stunning views Lake Tahoe itself and of the valley on the other side of the mountains. This huge resort has SO many things to offer, but here are the top 6 reasons you should consider staying here when visiting Tahoe.

1. The comfortable, breathable, and livable rooms.

Not only are the suites aesthetically pleasing and cozy, they are also very roomy and functional. With so many different room-types to choose from, you’ll easily find one that fits what you need. I absolutely loved the kitchen because I enjoy being able to cook where I stay (in order to save money).

2. The balcony view.

I was beyond happy with the view on our balcony. Just look at that pretty valley! Since The Ridge is located (you guessed it) on the ridge of the mountains, the views from anywhere and any room are spectacular. I particularly liked setting up shop here on the balcony in the morning sipping tea and reading a book.

3. A mountaintop spa during sunset.

We were there in May, which gave us very cool nights. I was so happy about that though, because we got to use the amazing roof-top hot tub! Being there during sunset was also a plus, of course. How better can someone relax than with a hot tub, a sunset, and beautiful lake and mountain views? Directly behind me while taking this photo is also an indoor hot tub, in case it gets too cold for some.

4. A large schedule of classes and activities for guests.

When I looked at the schedule for classes and activities at The Ridge for the days I was there, I was blown away. There were SO MANY! And that was even during off-season!! The Ridge offers classes and amenities for everything you can think of: exercise classes, morning yoga, guided hikes, crafts, climbing trips, water aerobics, and more. Add that to all of the amenities (including their spa, racquetball, tennis, multiple swimming pools, etc), and there is so much to do at this beautiful resort. It’s impossible to be bored!

5. The beautiful surroundings.

At The Ridge, you are completely surrounded by beauty and crisp mountain air. Everywhere you look is gorgeous, in any season. Of course, you can’t go wrong in the middle of one of the prettiest places in the US, but to top that off, the grounds of The Ridge are kept very pristinely. It feels so welcoming and relaxing as soon as you drive up.

6. Miles and miles of hiking trails within walking distance.

There are hundreds of hiking trails in the Tahoe area. The Ridge is in walking distance to parts of the Tahoe Rim Trail, which encircles the entirety of Lake Tahoe, as well as many other trails. We often ventured into trails just to see another view of the lake, or to set up our hammock somewhere in the trees for a good relaxation spot.

And…BONUS! There is SO MUCH to do nearby.

The town of South Lake Tahoe is just a short drive right down the mountain from The Ridge. There are amazing places to eat, waterfalls to explore, beaches to comb, and (of course) a huge lake to cruise around! If you love the outdoors like me, you don’t want to miss visiting South Lake Tahoe or staying at The Ridge.

We absolutely loved staying at The Ridge Tahoe Resort and can’t wait to stay there again! Maybe next we’ll stay during ski season!

Disclosure: I was invited to visit this hotel by The Ridge Tahoe Resort and Tahoe South and was offered a media rate during my stay.  I was not paid for this article.  All opinions are my own.

Wow, what a view!!! That alone is calling my name. Having grown up in the Rockies and now living in England, I miss these views.

Oh, yes, I’m sure. But so many great things about England, though! We’ll be headed there next year. We’ve got tickets for the Harry Potter play! So excited!! 🙂

OMG looks so nice! I’m probably biased but I would love to stay here in the winter – I’m sure it’s close to the lifts and that hot tub looks epic! Spend the whole day getting your body worked up then relax with that view… life is good 🙂

Yep, amazing in the winter, too. And yes, VERY close to the lifts. I’ve actually been in the winter, too! Just not in a very long time. I’d love to again soon!

I’m starting to get more into nature and I keep hearing people rave about how amazing Lake Tahoe is! If I’m ever back in America, I’m definitely going to go hiking. The suites look like they’re someone’s home and I love that homey feel!

Oh I hope you get to go. I’m a huge nature and outdoors lover and advocate, though, so it’s easily one of my favorite places.

This place looks absolutely beautiful! Would LOVE to do Lake Tahoe one day! When did you visit? Is this late winter/early spring? The mountain spa during sunset is what really caught my eye… can’t do mountain resorts without a hot tub 😉 Add that gorgeous scenery and it seems like an absolute win!

We were there in the middle of May, actually. It snowed on our last day there, while it was completely sunny our first 3 days there! You just never know in the mountains. 🙂

Those are such great reasons to stay in this property! I’m sold! I can’t even choose which reason is my favorite… maybe the rooftop hot tub? I can already imagine myself in that tub watching the sunset. Bliss! 🙂

Lake Tahoe reminds me of Whistler! That rooftop jacuzzi would be AMAZING during ski season 🙂

It’s pretty great during the spring, too! We were there in May, and while the temp was anywhere from 55-70F during the day, at night it got down into the 40s. So the hot tub was great! 🙂
